Josie Henley-Einion grew up in the Midlands and attended Bangor University in North Wales, studying Psychology and Linguistics. She was one of the first students to complete MMU's Online MA Creative Writing programme, studying in the Virtual Writing School from 2002 to 2005. After graduating, she turned to short story writing and was noticed by Legend Press who published one of her stories in their anthology, Seven Days; another of Josie‘s stories appearead in their 2008 anthology, Eight Hours. The novel she completed during her MA, Silence, was published by Legend in July 2008, and chosen as Waterstone's Welsh Book of the Month in August 2008. 

Josie lives in Cardiff with her civil partner Alys, ­who is also a writer and attended the MA programme at MMU ­and their son.
