Ali Cargill is an experienced teacher and tutor of English. She has examined for AQA in English, at both GCSE and A level. She has written the York Notes A level online revision resources for Shakespeare’s King Lear; contributed to the revised print edition and written the online revision resources for the new York Notes A level Study Guide for Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale.

Ali has a Master’s Degree (with Distinction) in Creative Writing. She has written for the Times Educational Supplement on her work in school with a student with severe autism. She has a fiction novel published: ‘Koff, (Mole End Café Publishing, 2013). As director of Carrotsmash Writing Services, she currently delivers writing courses through York Adult Learning.
